Position: Senior Automation Specialist
Location: Tampa, FL Automated Controls of Tampa, Inc. was founded in 2000 to provide Controls and Automation Solutions across multiple industries. We have completed projects throughout the United States and are highly respected for our commitment to Quality, Safety, and Customer Satisfaction. Our main industries are Phosphate, Food & Beverage, Municipalities / Water & Waste Water, and Petroleum Packaging. We are seeking a motivated Senior Automation Specialist to add to our already highly qualified, effective, and nimble team. Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and modification of automated systems of a variety of sizes and stages to include: • Project Estimates, Scopes, and Schedules • Component Selection and Design • PLC Programming • SCADA/HMI Programming • Industrial Network design, configuration, and support • Electrical Schematics / Control Panel Layouts • System Checkout, Commissioning, Startup, and TroubleshootingThe ideal candidate will be capable of working independently, while supporting other Automation Specialists, as well as coaching junior and entry level personnel through all stages of projects from inception to completion. Additionally, the candidate will be required to have excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. The candidate must be detail oriented, customer focused, and effective in adapting to customer standards. Travel to the customer site is required as dictated by project schedules and a valid driver’s license is required. 90% of work is within 45 miles from the office.Required Skills and QualificationsTo be considered for this position a track record demonstrating proficiency in the following is required: • Automation Project Management • SCADA / HMI Programming – specifically, Citect SCADA, WonderWare, Rockwell Automation • PLC Programming – specifically, Allen Bradley PLCs / RSLogix 500/5000 software • Control Systems Commissioning and Startup Support • Electrical Schematics and Panel Layout development • Microsoft Office ProductsRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Engineering or in Computer Science with 8 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree within a Technical discipline with 12 years of relevant experience.Secondary Skills and ExperienceA combination of the following is highly desirable, but not required for consideration for this position. • ISA or Programming Certifications • Experience in Plant Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or Field Technician • Experience with VMWare • Experience with Industrial Networking • SQL or other Database Programming • VFD Startup and Troubleshooting • P&ID Drawing Design and Development • MES Manufacturing Execution Systems • Machine Vision Systems • Experience with AutoCAD or another CAD package • Motion Control Systems Design • Working Knowledge of ISA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NFPA-79, UL, CE Standards/Codes • Automated Machinery Design • Electrical installation or Panel Build • Military ServiceContact: If you are interested and meet the requirements listed, please send your resume and any other relevant information to CS1601@AutomatedControls.US.
